Grandparents Day

Buddina State School celebrates Grandparents Day
A grandparent’s love is like no other and there were plenty of grandparents this week to celebrate National Grandparents day. Over 300 grandparents enjoyed some fun activities with their grandchildren in the classroom with some becoming surrogate grandparents to other little ones who were without. Year 2 children were building potato people and making family trees while the year 6 children were doing science experiments. Grandparents Day is a chance for children and the community to thank grandparents for their love and support.
We all have fond memories of being at Nan and Pop’s place – it’s where you’d go to get the kind of love that only a grandparent can give. At Buddina, this love was so evident in the classrooms on Grandparents Day.
After participating in classroom activities the extended families shared a wonderful picnic on the lawn where a cuppa was much appreciated while listening to the junior choir sing.
