Seussical Jr Musical

An excited audience of families, caregivers and friends were transported last Friday, Saturday and Sunday beyond a forest of tall truffula trees to an astonishingly colourful world of wit and fable “Seussical Jr the Musical”. Dr Seuss’s characters were brought to life by the lively, talented and dedicated students of Buddina State School in such a professional entertaining way that has the arts and wider community all a buzz. The audience’s cheers and laughs on opening night boosted an already excited cast and as a testament to months of Monday and Sunday rehearsals the show was outstanding. Not only did the students gain experience singing , dancing and acting on stage they also earned a sense of pride , took away new confidences , made diverse friendships , improved cooperative skills and quite a few bounced happily outside at the end of the last show with big smiles saying they wanted to do it all over again!! Thank you so much to all helpers, staff, volunteers sponsors! Including Matt for sets, direction, and choreography-you ran a marathon these last eight months and never waivered. Mr Vallance for leading the cast, organising and coordinating such a fabulous show. Ms Taylor for the mountains of hours you put into the fantastical costumes, adjusting and adding fine touches. Mrs Bakker for keeping us all on track with kindness and support, and a billion hugs to Julie Ehrlich and her crew for the most wonderous artworks, props and sets. You truly are a special gem. Finally it’s the little things, the caring Buddina values that shone most brightly like helping each other with a costume, a lost prop, adjust a mic, having a giggle when singing in a funny voice and escaping into an imaginative universe. Well Done Super Stars!!!
