containing thirty computers. It is

venue for the Chess Club. These students have paid to be instructed in the
strategies of Chess and attend many competitions in and out of school.
Every second Wednesday is Story time. The students listen to
a special story and then have the opportunity to complete exciting hands on
activities related to the story.

CLASS BORROWING
All classes have a set borrowing time in class time so that
students can borrow books on a regular basis. Each child can borrow a book from
the wide range of fiction and non-fiction books in the Resource Centre. It is
important that each student has a library bag to protect our special books from
harm. Students with overdue books will be prevented from borrowing until the
book is either returned or paid for.

SPECIAL EVENTS IN THE
RESOURCE CENTRE
Scholastic Book fair: Each year the Scholastic Book fair
is held in the Resource Centre. This special time is an excellent opportunity
for students and parents to purchase the latest most popular fiction and
non-fiction books, posters and small items such as erasers and pencils. The
school receives a percentage of the total sales and is then able to purchase
more popular books for the students.
Voices on the Coast:Selected students in Years 5 and
6 attend the University of Sunshine Coast to meet and listen to Australian
authors and illustrators.
2015 Premier's Reading Challenge - All students can
participate in the challenge to read at least 15 books (Yrs 5-6) or 20 books
(Prep- Yr 4) and keep record of the books during this time. They will then
receive a certificate from the Premier.
2015 Book Week held in August is always a very
exciting time at Buddina with all students and teachers dressing up for the
Book Week Parade. The Resource Centre has a majority of the books nominated for
