If students need to arrive at school before 8:15am or cannot make their way home at 2:40 pm, we recommend our Out of School Hours Care facility (OSHC). For more information about OSHC visit our facilities page here or head to https://www.helpinghandsnetwork.com.au/find-us/?search=Buddina
For safety and supervision reasons, students should not arrive before 8:15am. Students arriving between 8:15am and 8:30am are required to wait in their designated year-level areas to ensure a calm and safe start to the day. These central meeting areas support student wellbeing, supervision and a smooth transition into learning. Specific waiting locations for each year level are outlined below.
- Preps: Please drop off as close to 8:30am as possible – students go directly to their classroom
- Years 1–3 (Junior School): Undercover area near the Tuckshop (parents are free to leave once students are settled)
- Years 4–5 (Senior School): Undercover area near the Year 4 eating area / senior playground
- Year 6: Undercover area in front of the Year 6 block
- Students waiting with parents: Students who arrive with parents and are being supervised by their parent/carer are permitted to wait on the designated seating near student classrooms, not upstairs in the year 3 building. Please note: this area is intended only for students who are seated with their parent/carer.
School is dismissed at 2.40pm. Once dismissed, students are to proceed home.
Parents who collect students each afternoon in private vehicles are asked to ensure that the students are not left to wait for long periods after dismissal time. Prep students must be collected from their classrooms.
Parents are also asked to observe safety regulations with regard to parking vehicles and to ensure the services of the Crossing Supervisor and pedestrian crossings are used.
